The short version

Who we are, and who to write to

Quick Cert Academy is operated by Atx Digital, LLC, registered in Dover, Delaware under registry number 3706059. We are the controller of the personal data described on this page: we decide what is collected and why.

For anything about your data — a copy of it, a correction, a deletion, or a complaint — write to privacy@quickcertacademy.com or use the contact page. That reaches the person responsible for this site, not a queue.

What we collect

When you take a course

• Your email address. It is the account — there is no password.
• Your progress: lessons opened and completed, quiz and exam answers, scores and timestamps.
• Your name, only if you buy a certificate, because it is printed on it.

When you arrive

• Acquisition data: the campaign, advert or search that brought you, and the first page you landed on. This is recorded in a first-party cookie on your first visit and attached to your account if you later register.
• Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages viewed.

When you buy a certificate

• Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. We keep the amount, the date and Stripe’s reference for the payment.

Cookies and advertising

This site uses cookies for three purposes, and it is worth being specific about which.

Necessary

Keeping you signed in and remembering your progress between visits. The site does not work without these.

Attribution

A first-party cookie recording which campaign or search brought you here, set on your first visit and kept for up to a year. We use it to judge which advertising is worth paying for.

Analytics and advertising

Third parties — including Google, as an advertising partner — may set cookies or similar identifiers to measure audience and to select adverts. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, and opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.

Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time. Blocking the necessary ones will stop your progress being saved.

Email we send

If you create an account we send sign-in links, and messages about the course you started: a nudge if you stop partway, the result of your exam, and your certificate if you buy one. Every one of them has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not close your account or remove your progress.

Why we are allowed to hold it

Four reasons, and each piece of data sits under one of them:

• To give you what you asked for. An account and its progress exist because you created one. A certificate exists because you bought one.
• Because we have to. Payment and tax records are kept for as long as accounting rules require, whatever anyone would prefer.
• Because it is reasonable and you would expect it. Knowing which campaign brought you here, and keeping the site working and secure.
• Because you agreed. Advertising and analytics cookies, where consent is required where you are.

You can withdraw consent at any time — see the cookie section above — and doing so does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

Who else sees your data

We share data only with the services that make the product work. This list is what is actually connected today, not what we plan to connect:

• Vercel — hosting and serving the site.
• Our database host — where accounts, progress and certificates are stored. A server in Germany, rented by us and not shared.
• Cloudflare R2 — storing the images the site serves.
• Stripe — payment processing, if and when you buy a certificate. We never see or store your card details; Stripe does.
• Google (AdSense / Ad Manager) — advertising, once advertising is enabled on this site.

Not yet connected, and named here so the list stays honest as they are: email delivery, and product analytics. When either is switched on, this page is updated before it is.

Where your data is held

The database is on a server in Germany. Hosting, image storage and payment processing are run by companies based in the United States, which means some of your data is transferred there and is handled under the safeguards those companies publish for international transfers.

If that matters to you, the practical summary is: an email address, your course progress, and — only if you buy a certificate — your name and payment record.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with employers. A verification page shows only what is printed on the certificate: name, course, dates and exam score. Never your email address, and never anything you did not complete.

How long we keep it

Account and progress data for as long as the account exists. Certificates indefinitely, because a verification link has to keep working — an employer may check one years later. Payment records for as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to privacy@quickcertacademy.com from the address on the account and we will answer within 30 days.

One thing deletion does not do: it does not revoke a certificate already issued. If you want a certificate revoked as well, say so — but anyone holding the ID will then see it marked revoked rather than valid.

If you are in the EU or the UK

You have the rights above, plus the right to object to processing, to ask us to restrict it, to receive your data in a portable form, and to complain to your national data protection authority if you think we have handled it badly. You do not have to go through us first, though we would rather you did so we can fix it.

Advertising consent. Where consent is required for advertising and analytics cookies, they are not set until it is given. Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time in your browser’s cookie settings.

If you are in California or another US state with a privacy law

You can ask what personal information we have collected about you, ask for it to be deleted, ask for it to be corrected, and not be treated worse for asking. The same address handles all of it: privacy@quickcertacademy.com.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for anything of value. Advertising on this site is served by Google, which may use identifiers to select adverts — the opt-out links in the cookie section above apply.

Children

This site is for people of working age and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with your data, we email account holders before it takes effect.
